Description: Lavender is colourless to pale yellow in colour and has a sweet, floral odour.
Method of Extraction: Steam Distillation
Plant part used: freshly cut flowering tops and stalks
Blends well with: Chamomile German, Geranium, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Peppermint, Rose and Ylang Ylang.
Cautions: Lavender should not be used during pregnancy. Use Lavender with caution if you have low blood pressure.
Many sources are undecided as to the effects of Lavender during pregnancy. Some state that you can use it all the way through your pregnancy, some state that you can only use it in the last trimester and others state that you should not use it at all. I have been cautious and stated not to use it at all.
Uses: 5 drops in a bath or vaporiser or mix with 10ml of carrier oil for massage.
