Making your own blends
A good aromatherapy essential oil kit should contain a combination of top, middle and base note oils along with carrier oils for blending. When starting your own kit, start with a few of the basics. Base notes are a thick, deep aroma. People often smell the base notes straight from the bottle not realising that it is very difficult to appreciate the scent out of the bottle. Base note aromas changes as the oil is dispersed and evaporated. As a rule of thumb think of base notes as the lingering, long lasting scent. The opposite of this is the top notes. These are quick to evaporate and very strong initially - it leads the way and is the first to stand out. Over time the top note evaporates leaving behind the middle and base notes.

Partly fill the bowl of the vaporiser or diffuser with warm water (never use cold or boiling water) and add the recommended amount of your favourite Essential Oils. Light the tea light candle under the bowl and allow it to heat or simply plug in and turn on your Electric Oil Burner. The aroma will start to fill the room as the water warms.
Bath. Once you have drawn your bath, add the recommended number of drops into the water and disperse.
Massage. Blend the recommended number of drops with 10ml of carrier oil such as Sweet Almond Oil or Apricot Kernal Oil.
